Getting Ready
This interactive narrative project centers around a young woman's daily struggle with mental health issues, particularly OCD. The concept of the piece is that it is a "false-choice" narrative. Choices are presented to the player, but all choices ultimately funnel them to the same conclusion of each scenario and the experience as a whole. The piece is also structured as an endless loop, ending at the beginning and starting all over again. The structure of the interactions supports the content of the game and the theme of the controlling influence that OCD has on everyday activities and the difficulty of breaking the negative cycle of mental illness.
